Architectural and Engineering Computer Graphics
During the first year of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), students will have the opportunity to work with the same software used in universities and industry to make two-dimensional drawings and three-dimensional models. Each student will work daily in a self-paced format, continually acquiring new skills to help with their engineering and architectural projects. No prior computer experience is required.
Upon completion of the first year of CAD, students will have the opportunity to deepen their modeling knowledge in areas of interest that they determine. Each student will be able to decide if they want to build on the previous year’s skills with advanced three-dimensions engineering models and architectural homes, or develop new skills working with more complex curved surfaces and/or computer animation.
2005 Student 3D Architectural Project Gallery - students worked with a commercial level 3D modeling program called Revit to build highly detailed homes, complete with land, furniture, fixtures and landscaping.
2005 Student 3D Engineering Project Gallery - students worked with a commercial level 3D modeling program called Inventor to build highly detailed objects typical of what is produced in industry.
Note: As their teacher, I wish I could credit each of these outstanding projects from students by name, but DODDS web site policy forbids the use of any student names (sigh).
